Talk about girl squad”we fell in love with these ladies who showed a beyond inspiring camaraderie. All the Way Mae, Dottie Hinson, Betty Spaghetti and Doris Murphy were the real deal and while the film was fictionalized, the story was taken from the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). Together these strong females showed their role in sport and play, even making a believer out of their grumpy of a coach, Jimmy Dugan, played by Tom Hanks. Fun fact: before the actresses began filming they trained eight hours a day, six days a week for over seven months, honing their baseball skills. That’s dedication.
