Golden Girls
It feels only fitting to include one of the best female squads, all seemingly representing a medley of relatable gals. The feisty Blanche (Rue McClanahan), naive Rose (Betty White), dry-witted Dorothy (Bea Arthur) and unapologetic matriarch, Sophia (Estelle Getty), all tackled controversial issues including gay marriage, teen pregnancy and AIDS. Not only did the ensemble make for a bevy of random screen moments, but the Golden Girls gave us quite possibly the most staple theme song ever. It’s OK to sing to yourself now. The show ran from 1985 to 1992, but even after its finale and countless reruns that still never tire, new generations of females embraced the solid relations the ladies made. Yet, there may be no bigger fan than Summer Roberts.
