Whether it was Gigi or Chrissy Teigen or Green Day–the comments on president-elect, Donald Trump were ever present at the 2016 AMAs. Green Day, the now Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, made sure that their performance of MDC’s “Born to Die” came complete with anti-Trump lyrics. For an awards show that heard its hosts open the night by saying the evening wasn’t going to be focused on the political agenda, its presenters sure didn’t spare digging into politics after all.
