Our Top 10 Favourite On-Screen Wedding Moments

Before Grey’s Anatomy lost its focus, it was a show that took pride in reframing relationships and commitment for strong, career-focused women, and to date, nowhere is that better displayed than in Meredith Grey and Derek Shephard’s quickie post-it wedding. At its root, a wedding is but a symbolic party and a bunch of finely tailored clothes worn on an arbitrary date, and this scene for the ages reminds us that a relationship is whatever you want it to be as long as the other half is by your side. Meredith and Derek survived more than a few tough times on this square blue post-it, constantly referring to it to remind each other of the vows written on it to begin with: characters in the show have often joked that all Meredith and Derek had was a piece of paper, not a real wedding, but it does seem like their paper is stronger than most of the promises their colleagues made to each other.
