2. Know the names and nicknames of the players
Real fans use nicknames, not real names. There is actually an entire Wikipedia page dedicated to baseball players’ nicknames, that’s how important they are. But here’s a quick and easy one for ya: Jose Bautista, the superstar right fielder of the Blue Jays, has one of the best baseball nicknames out there…Joey Bats. Toss that name out there with a comment on his epic bat flip from last season and yer good. (BTW, there’s a freakin’ Wikipedia page for that bat flip too. Fans be serious.)
