5. Learn the words to “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”
I’m pretty sure they play this at every game, at every field so if you don’t know the words, it’s going to be SO obvious that you’re faking it. This song dates back to 1908 so it’s been around for TIME and is basically the unofficial anthem of all North American baseball. Learn the chorus and you’re golden (but be sure to replace “home team” with your team name):
Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd;
Just buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don’t care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don’t win, it’s a shame.
For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out,
At the old ball game.
