The Fire by Night by Teresa Messineo
Teresa Messineo first got the idea for writing The Fire by Night ($22) after nurses began telling their war-time stories in 2005 (prior to that they signed oaths of secrecy which prohibited them from disclosing details of their service). The author spent seven years researching and listening to these stories, and the result is a novel that focuses on two American army nurses on the front lines in Europe during World War II.
