When you’re travelling alone you have to be choosy about where you drink. To avoid the meat markets and dives, we recommend the bar and patio at Providence, which is also a hotel and restaurant. The floral wallpaper and Louis carved furniture will have you swooning. And the friendly and dapper bar staff will keep your drink filled and casually chat with you. The locals say it is authentically French, and if you check it out on Instagram you’ll see why. It’s polished, pretty and posh. The menu changes frequently, I’m told, as the menu online wasn’t available when I was there. But do order a bite, as everything I tried was delicious. It’s owned by Paris restaurateur Pierre Moussié, who has had his name on pretty much anywhere that is the place to eat in Paris.
