I don’t believe we’re existing in our new, shitty reality in the same way, nor do I consider the playing field even remotely even. Are we all experiencing the pandemic? Yes. Are we all suffering through the same mental, emotional, financial, and social hurdles? Absolutely not. If anything, the pandemic has confirmed what’s been common knowledge for all eternity: if you’ve got any semblance of privilege, your life is easier than the folks who do not.
