Today I woke up before dawn and I threw open my blinds and I yelled, “YOU THERE BOY, WHAT DAY IS THIS?”<\/p>\n

And my cat did not answer me because I sounded out of my mind. But if he\u00a0could <\/em>have answered me, he’d have said, “It is one day closer to the Love, Actually<\/em> sequel, miss.” Also, he would’ve said so in a British accent because this is my fantasy and I make the rules here.<\/p>\n

But yes: Love, Actually 2<\/em> is on its way, even though it’s being made only as part of Red Nose Day and will only be 10 minutes. (March 24 in the UK — which\u00a0will then air on May 25 on NBC here in North America.)<\/p>\n

Richard Curtis announced an abridged version<\/a>\u00a0of the film is underway, and will star Hugh Grant, Martine McCutcheon, Keira Knightley, Andrew Lincoln, Colin Firth, Lucia Moniz, Liam Neeson, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Olivia Olson, Bill Nighy, Marcus Brigstocke and Rowan Atikinson. So far, Emma Thompson remains unattached.<\/p>\n

“I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to Love, Actually<\/em>, but I thought it might be fun to do 10 minutes to see what everyone is up to now,” said Curtis. “Who has aged best? I guess that’s the big question . . . or is it so obviously Liam?”<\/p>\n

“We’ve been delighted and grateful that so many of the cast are around and able to take part — and it’ll certainly be a nostalgic moment getting back together and recreating their characters 14 years later.”<\/p>\n

So begin the countdown immediately and join me in wearing exclusively\u00a0turtlenecks until the film’s premiere in a couple of weeks. We deserve this. We work hard. We need to laugh and feel again.
