Spring has officially sprung, and even if the temperature\u00a0isn’t quite reflecting that just yet, the mall certainly is. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been perusing spring collections online since mid-February, while snow fell outside.<\/p>\n

The change of season always makes me want to buy all of the things, and while I usually allot part of my budget to trend pieces<\/a>\u201dbecause, why not?\u201dI try to make a point to pick up at least one classic piece that I can keep for years to come. And whether or not you’ve got a small or large (lucky you) budget, these key pieces are available at every price point!<\/p>\n

Trench coat<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The trench coat is one of those pieces that you’ve likely seen in every magazine you’ve ever picked up. Now, I don’t have a statistic on that, but I can say from personal experience that trench coats are usually in some spring editorial whenever I’m browsing magazines for #outfitinspo.\u00a0The Burberry Trench<\/a>\u00a0($1550) is definitely more of a dream jacket, but if you got it like that, do you, boo!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

If Burberry is just a teensy bit out of your price range, this ZARA Bell Sleeve Trench Coat<\/a>\u00a0($119) might be worth a try. Also, the slightly over-sized fit of this one just gives me John Cusack “Say Anything<\/a>” vibes. (A total plus, obviously.)<\/p>\n

Denim<\/strong><\/p>\n

I mean, come on\u201dwe’re Canadian! Of course, denim is a staple piece in any wardrobe, all year round. For spring though, light wash denim is key. This pair of AG jeans<\/a>\u00a0($330) are the perfect, casual fit. Also, they’re pretty classic in that they don’t have any embellishments or rips, so if either ever go out of style, you can still rock these bad boys.<\/p>\n

Who can go wrong with a classic? When all else fails, Levi’s jeans<\/a> ($90) are always a good idea. You can try a pair of Levi’s now, and love them forever.<\/p>\n

Sneakers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sneakers are always a good idea because they’re the perfect transitional footwear. Unlike sandals, they cover your feet when it’s a little chilly, and unlike your winter boots, well, they’re not made for sub-zero temperatures. Classic Nike Air Max<\/a>\u00a0($165). Need I say more?<\/p>\n

We’re all about the classics when it comes to sneakers. Classic Adidas Superstars<\/a>\u00a0($100). Need I say more?<\/p>\n

White<\/strong><\/p>\n

Obviously this could mean anything: white bag, white shoes, white jeans, etc. However, for our purposes, let’s say a white dress. White is so fresh, and what is spring, but a fresh start? Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping and you should have something that goes with all of the various trends that come with a new season. That means a blank canvas: a white dress. Wear it to brunch or to work, this Club Monaco Kayette Lace Dress<\/a> ($289)\u00a0is versatile and super cute!<\/p>\n

Speaking of white, a plain white tee is always a must, as far as I’m concerned. They’re perfect for dressing up, dressing down, and the accessory options are virtually limitless!\u00a0Alexander Wang<\/a> sure can design a basic tee ($165) like no one else. Can’t go wrong with a tailored v-neck.<\/p>\n
