When you have ultra-fine hair,\u00a0greasy roots and ponytails are a fact of life, even after a fresh wash. Day two usually kicks off with harboured moments of hate and sometimes a hat, and there’s usually no such thing as day three. But as someone who wasn’t genetically blessed with bouncy Disney princess-like locks, I’m pretty good at faking it when I want to.<\/span><\/p>\n

The key to faking it wasn’t an easy discovery. In fact, in my short 24 years, I’ve gone to great lengths to try to give my flat hair some body, all the while doing some serious damage: permanent wave treatments, clip-in extensions, impulsive haircuts involving layers, bobs, bangs and even shaved undercut sides, skipping conditioner and daily heat styling.
