It\u2019s official, Toronto Fashion Week X RE\\SET<\/a> is back in action from February 5 to 7. In between the power walk to and from the ROM, the Gardiner Museum and the parking garage in Toronto\u2019s Yorkville Village, you can find us hanging out backstage in the oval with makeup lead Simone Otis<\/a>, Award Winning P1M Makeup Artist and beautyBOUTIQUE<\/a> by Shoppers Drug Mart Spokesperson, to give you daily recaps of our favourite beauty looks. Kicking off the week with a bang, here are our fave looks from day one.<\/p>\n

BUBL X DAVID DIXON:
\nSilver and Pearl Eyes<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nInspired by the 2 million Canadians impacted by Osteoporosis, designer David Dixon<\/a> teamed up with Osteoporosis Canada to build a collection made from bubble wrap<\/a> \u2014 the universal symbol of protection. Otis describes the collection as super futuristic, yet very pretty. \u201cDavid Dixon wanted to do something silver and a little \u201cfuture<\/i>\u201d. He\u2019s got a range of ages [models] \u00a0in his show \u2014 which is wonderful to see \u2014 and I wanted to not just do a grey eyeshadow. I wanted to something with a little punch, so it’s a little metallic,\u201d Otis explains. The key to this look is the metallic accent on the inner corners of the eyes. After creating a soft silver base on the lids and creating a smudgy tight line along the upper and lower lashline, Otis applied Urban Decay Polyester Bride Eyeshadow<\/a> ($25) in the inner corners of the eyes to play on soft and pretty effect. To warm this look, she lightly coated the lips with a custom peachy tone.<\/p>\n

MIKHAEL KALE:
\nSuper Clean<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSo far our favourite collection of the week, Mikhael Kale<\/a>\u2019s latest collection has us wanting more tulle and ruched sleeves. With models strutting down the parking lot runway rocking white cowboy boots and various loud colours and textures, it makes sense why Otis wanted to create a super clean look. \u201cHis [Kale\u2019s] clothes are so intricate, so detailed, so colourful \u2014 lots of things going on \u2014 I didn\u2019t want to argue with it. [With more] I feel like it becomes like you\u2019re trying too hard, so I wanted to go with a perfect, clean no-makeup makeup. I just feel like it\u2019s the strongest thing right now that works with what he\u2019s doing,\u201d says Otis. The key to this look is hydration. You want to make sure the skin looks clean and healthy. After spot concealing imperfections, Otis recommends using NARS Velvet Loose Face Powder<\/a> ($46) only<\/i> down the centre of the face if it\u2019s absolutely necessary.<\/p>\n
