More than just pretty packaging is Altilis Beauty\u2019s line of InflorEssence Facial Cleanser, Serum and Moisturizer. It\u2019s recyclable paper\u2019s whimsical illustrations of breadfruit and colourfully twisted tops that remind me of flowers grabbed my attention at first glance and have since earned prime real estate in my bathroom.<\/p>\n
Now to be fair, I\u2019m a sucker for great packaging. If there\u2019s an innovative shampoo bottle or a funny caption noted on a facemask, chances are I have it. I really should have stock in Claus Porto soaps, Nest candles, & Other Stories fragrances, Tom Ford anything, Glow Recipe skin care and so many more decorative beauty brands that I don\u2019t even know where to start. Maybe with the Celine Dion All For Love art deco-styled bottle that\u2019s sat front and centre on my dresser since its debut in 2014. I rarely wear it, but I look at it every day and smile.<\/p>\n
Altilis\u2019 line has the same effect. It\u2019s a showstopper, yet unlike the pretty soaps I can\u2019t bear to unravel the paper from I apply it daily before popping each container back into it\u2019s package.<\/p>\n
Fuelled with anti-oxidating, soothing and protecting breadfruit from Samoa, the line\u2019s core formulation fights free radicals that can damage and age your dermis, reduces inflammation, acne and rosacea and replenishes collagen and elastin to create glowing, smooth and soft skin. It\u2019s also comprised of organic plant-based ingredients including healing and stimulating gotu kola, smoothing honeybush and wrinkle busting acemann polysaccharides from Aloe Vera. Plus, it\u2019s not tested on animals (two paws up from Trixie-the-cat) and is hypoallergenic which means my skin is blotch-free after every use.<\/p>\n
Possibly best of all though, is the cool story behind the brand. Innovated and crafted by smarty pants YouTuber Kenna Whitnell, a Canadian biochemist who studied at the University of British Columbia, the success of Altilis can be attributed to both the breadfruit and to Whitnell\u2019s sustainable extraction process of its active properties. Not only is she the sole user of breadfruit in skin care to date, she\u2019s simultaneously formed a partnership with local Samoa communities to ensure their crops are supported, abundant and successful.<\/p>\n
