I\u2019ve got 99 beauty problems but super-dry hair isn\u2019t one. It is however dehydrated hair season, you know with the cold front creeping in, so I\u2019m taking one for the team and test-driving Monat\u2019s Super Nourish Oil Cr\u00e8me Shampoo and Conditioner. Let me qualify, I\u2019m not using it every day as prescribed on the bottles since my fine and medium-thick strands can\u2019t take it, but rather once a week after doing laps at the community pool. And I have to say; my chlorine-soaked hair seems to appreciate having a healthy helping of moisture added to it.<\/p>\n
The creamy formulas are extremely hydrating since they contain oils like sweet almond, grape and pomegranate seeds oils with mango seed butter. The shampoo is low lather, which basically means not so many bubbles but just as much clean to better maintain the humectants in your hair and the conditioner contains a plant-based silicone alternative to reinforce and strengthen locks. Neither product includes parabens, cyclic silicones, phthalates, petrolatum, mineral oil, paraffin wax, chemical colour or fragrance. They are however, infused with Monat\u2019s patented Rejuveniqe blend of 13 natural plant oils that are rich in omega fatty acids, antioxidants and nutrients, as well as a light, natural coconut-like scent.<\/p>\n
Normally, this line is better suited for those with thick, coil-y, curly, damaged and ultra dry hair like my new pool (and now shower) buddy, 75-year-old Moira, who after using my Monat shampoo and conditioner now \u201cforgets\u201d her own haircare products every week. Incidentally, Moira\u2019s hair has never looked healthier and shinier. As for me, I no longer have awful tangles post swim and I feel like I\u2019m doing something good for my hair so there\u2019s that.<\/p>\n
