We\u2019ll try pretty much anything poured into an Oribe bottle. The late celebrity and runway hairstylist’s<\/a> products have been a bit of an obsession since we first styled our hair with Dry Texturizing Spray over a decade ago. Now, we\u2019re spritzing the brand\u2019s latest eau de parfum, Valley of Flowers and its intimate floral scent is worth every drop.<\/p>\n

Vibrant and lush, the fragrance opens with notes of earthy violet, bright pomelo fruit and sweet bergamot. A heady bouquet of Bulgarian rose, peony and jasmine blooms soon burst forward adding an intoxicating quality, while warm amber, textured wood and creamy musk provide the scent with a silky soft undertone. \u201cThe heart of Valley of Flowers is Bulgarian rose,\u201d says Adriana Medina, the perfumer of Valley of Flowers and the vice president perfumer for Givaudan. \u201c[It] is harvested in the morning in the months of May and June and quickly pressed to preserve its dewy, modern freshness.\u201d Relevant and engaging for certain, the overall effect is sunny and sensual, casual and exotic, a must-wear for everyone.<\/p>\n

Not that we\u2019re surprised. After all, the Cuban-born legend was and his namesake brand continues to be renowned for its Midas touch. Naomi Campbell, Gianni Versace, Cindy Crawford, Steven Meisel and JLo all knew it. Proof was in their larger-than-life hairstyles, fashionable catwalks and published photographs. It was also in Oribe\u2019s lust-worthy signature scent\u2014the blend of fresh fruit, heady flowers and creamy woods that Medina describes as \u201c glamorous,\u201d \u201cclean\u201d and \u201cwarm and musky,\u201d \u2014that wafted throughout his haircare products long before becoming, C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur parfum in 2014.<\/p>\n

In our opinion, it\u2019s just a matter of time before Valley of Flowers joins the ranks of its well-worn predecessor and, along with Desertland, the brand\u2019s new, bright, crisp eau, becomes the next Oribe cult-favourite. But we\u2019ll save that discussion and the third spritz for another story…<\/p>\n
