In the midst of Mileygate (also known as the controversial photos that Perez Hilton posted where it looked like Miley Cyrus wasn’t wearing underwear \u201c but she was\u009d), the teen star has come out and declared herself non-slutty\u009d, but also making it quite clear that nobody can or will tell her what to wear or sing about.  (But just for the record, a 17-year-old is still a minor though, right?)<\/p>\n

Going on to say that she’s trying to make a point with [her] record and look consistent in the way [her] record sounds and that way that [she] dresses\u009d, young Cyrus continued her slightly questionable declarations:<\/p>\n

I’m not trying to be \u02dcslutty,’\u009d said Cyrus in a recent interview. I’m not trying to be like, go to the club and get a bunch of guys … What I’m trying to do is to make a point with my record and look consistent, in the way my record sounds and the way I dress.\u009d<\/p>\n

I’m really comfortable with my body, I work really hard to be fit and to know that I can wear whatever makes me most comfortable.  I feel more comfortable dressing with a little less, which is just how I’ve always been.\u009d<\/p>\n

Sure, Miley’s free to dress and act however she likes \u201c that’s the beauty of free will.  But despite her maturity or what she may be ready\u009d for, to define herself by being scantily clad or oozing sex appeal is doing herself a disservice.  Here’s hoping she knows she knows she’s worth more than a pair of short-shorts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
