The guy who came up with the phrase All’s fair in love and war\u009d must have had a love<\/a> triangle or two in his past. There’s nothing that a gossip-hungry public loves more than a good old-fashioned fight for the attention of one lucky man or lady. From real world Hollywood to the silver screen to your favourite old comic book, we’ve got five love triangles that will be forever imprinted on our psyches.<\/p>\n

1. Archie\/Veronica\/Betty.<\/strong>
The geeky Jalopy-driving teen regularly had his choice between two determined ladies: The raven-haired (and super-rich) Veronica Lodge and the weirdly identical but blonde sweetie-pie Betty Cooper. Occasionally Reggie would come on the scene to stir things up a little.<\/p>\n

2. Prince Charles\/Princess Di\/Camilla Parker Bowles<\/strong>.
This story may not be fictional, but it had all the makings of a fairy tale gone wrong. In 1993, a telephone recording revealed that Prince C liked to joke\u009d about wanting to be Camilla’s tampon. Nuff said. The royal couple broke up<\/a> for good in ’96 and a few years after Princess Di’s tragic death, Prince Charles did end up marrying his long-time mistress.<\/p>\n

3. Joey\/Dawson\/Pacey.
<\/strong> Wordy teen drama Dawson’s Creek<\/em> may have starred (duh) Dawson, but girl next door Joey Potter (ie. Katie Holmes before she got roboticized) had her pick between angsty Dawson and wise-cracking Pacey Witter. In the end, Pacey got the girl (no argument there…) and Dawson achieved his film-making dreams, instead.<\/p>\n

4. Brad\/Angelina\/Jennifer.<\/strong>
This is another real-life drama that seems straight out of a movie (or a trashy novel), given how tabloids still use the trio as regular cover-fodder, five years down the road. In the early naughties, everyone loved to love Brad and Jen, but with the filming of Mr. and Mrs. Smith<\/em>, things took a turn for the scandalous. In 2005, Hollywood’s Golden couple split and Brangelina was born, adopted babies and all. We all pretend to be annoyed at this never-ending drama, but where would Team Whoever\u009d t-shirts be without it?<\/p>\n

5. Bella\/Edward\/Jacob.<\/strong>
Last but not least, we’ve got our modern-day paranormal Twilight<\/em> love triangle, consisting of one mumbly-voiced regular\u009d gal, one sparkly vamp played by none other than Robert Pattinson, and one oft-shirtless werewolf named Jacob. While the two male suitors provided eye candy for us all, this was never really a true competition \u201c while Bella briefly felt sparks for the fuzzier of the two boys, her over-the-top I would die for you\u009d passion always lay with undead Edward.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
