Let’s face it ladies: flying can take a serious toll on your body. Instead of looking like Jackie O upon arrival, you’re often dehydrated<\/a>, swollen and puffy\u201dnot quite the glamorous, Paparazzi-ready arrival you were hoping to make.<\/p>\n

Whether you’ve booked a winter getaway, are anxiously awaiting your honeymoon departure or are a frequent flier, I’ve selected must-have items to pack (and tricks to know) so you arrive at your destination looking refreshed and relaxed.<\/p>\n

The one most essential secret to arriving refreshed is to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate<\/strong>! Try to drink tons of water during the flight (yes, that means passing on the alcohol and soda!), so your body stays hydrated and your skin <\/a>supple. Replacing sugary drinks with water aids in bodily functions, often alleviating constipation caused by traveling. And yes, water is boring and well, essentially tasteless, but adding a little wedge of lemon adds a refreshing flavour.<\/p>\n

While drinking water is unquestionably beneficial for your skin, you might just need that extra boost of moisture, especially when 30,000 feet in the air. Two must-have products to take onboard are Clinique’s Moisture Surge<\/strong>, a refreshing gel cream that provides mega-watt moisture, and Avene’s Thermal Water<\/strong> mist that instantly soothes and calms irritated skin.<\/p>\n

Another product to definitely toss in your travel beauty bag is Smith’s Rosebud salve<\/strong>, a sweet smelling balm that you can use to keep your pucker moisturized and, wait for it, your nose. Yep, while it sounds pretty gross, coating your nostrils with the balm keeps your nose from uncomfortably drying out.<\/p>\n

As for your makeup, keeping it simple is key<\/strong>. If you can, try to avoid any, as a bare face will allow your skin to breathe. But alas, if you’re anything like me and dread anyone seeing you without your \u02dcface’ on, opt for a lightweight foundation in a sheer or tinted moisturizer formulation. While I prefer not to wear eye makeup during my flight, there is one little tip I cannot resist sharing: to make your eyes appear bigger and more alert, I line the inner rims of my eyelids with white eyeliner! Other beauty items like mascara and blush can be applied just prior to landing so you look refreshed and your best.<\/p>\n

And ladies, if you arrive looking more swollen than a socialite’s collagen-injected lips, take a cue from the ever-fashionable Jackie O and conceal yourself in oversized frames and a attention grabbing hat.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
