{"id":53034,"date":"2012-02-01T10:49:00","date_gmt":"2012-02-01T10:49:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2012-02-01T10:49:00","modified_gmt":"2012-02-01T10:49:00","slug":"paula-abdul-and-nicole-scherzinger-get-fired-x-factor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/digiblocks.ca\/29secrets\/pop-culture\/daily-whisper\/paula-abdul-and-nicole-scherzinger-get-fired-x-factor\/","title":{"rendered":"Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger Get Fired from &#8216;The X Factor&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"body\">\n<div>\n<p>After a pretty successful first season, <em>The X Factor<\/em> is doing a complete re-haul of the show by firing judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, as well as host Steve Jones.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the show did fairly well in ratings, it still wasn&#8217;t enough for Simon Cowell, the show&#8217;s judge and creator, to compete with his former bosses and claim to fame, <em>American Idol<\/em>. He came to the conclusion that to snag the viewers, he had to look for more star power in the judges.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations,\u009d Paula said in a statement announcing her departure from the show. She added that she would remain friends with Simon and was happy to have had the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>Steve took to his Twitter page to announce that he wouldn&#8217;t be returning to the show. I wont be hosting next seasons <em>XFactor<\/em> which is a shame but I cant complain as I&#8217;ve had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show,\u009d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>As for Nicole, the singer says she is ready to re-focus her attention on her music, which she had no time for while on <em>The X Factor<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She wants to focus on her music career,\u009d a source said. &#8220;She didn&#8217;t have any time really to work on her music. She was doing <em>X Factor<\/em> six days a week.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Rumours have already started to circulate that Simon might be looking to get Mariah Carey on board as a judge, as well as his ex-colleague, Ryan Seacrest as host. I&#8217;m not sure Ryan would sign-on to do another singing competition when he has had so much success with <em>American Idol<\/em>.
