The lipstick game<\/a> requires more than just long-lasting colour. And since most brands assure longevity, you want something that keeps your lips soft and moisturized too. That’s why we’ve rounded up five of our favourite long-lasting moisture-filled lipsticks \u201c so you can avoid doubling up on product<\/a>, or suffering from dehydrated-looking, dull colour.<\/p>\n

1. MAC Lipstick<\/a>
<\/strong>Putting a shame to almost all other long-lasting lip products, MAC lipstick is the stuff of makeup artist’s dreams since it stays in place and doesn’t bleed. So long-lasting it actually requires you to completely remove it if you’re hoping to re-apply (otherwise you’re just stacking layer atop of layer, which leads to a caked-on, plastic effect), the only thing you may want to do is apply it with a brush: since it stays put so well, if you don’t create the perfect outline, you may be stuck with stained skin for a while.<\/p>\n

2. COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor<\/a>
<\/span>Helping to create soft, moisture-rich lips within seven days, COVERGIRL’s LipPerfection Lipcolor line offers a pop of colour without leaving a caked-on after effect. Easily applicable, you won’t suffer from needing to create a base with lip balms or even lip liner \u201c though if you opt for a darker colour, you may want to re-apply every hour or so, just to prevent the infamous lipstick ring.<\/p>\n

3. Guerlain Rouge Automatique Hydrating Long-Lasting Lipcolor<\/a>
<\/strong>Often overlooked, Guerlain channels the like butter\u009d effect in that it goes on that easily. Comparable to silk (we’re not joking), it leaves a satiny finish to even the most matte effect, which prevents your lipstick from seeming too flat. Available in 25 shades, each tone is crystal clear and lacks the chalkiness of certain lipstick brands, providing a sheen that covers evenly.<\/p>\n

4. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick<\/a>
<\/span>Sealing in colour and moisture, the classic line channels the look of the 1960s without the dry, dehydrating effects. One of the only lines to wear completely evenly (or at least that’s what this writer found), Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick provides a creamy texture \u201c comparable to a stain or even a thicker gloss \u201c without leaving lips feeling overly covered or even slippery. 5. Clinique Almost Lipstick<\/a>
<\/strong>Fine, we admit it: Clinique’s Almost Lipstick lives up to its name \u201c it’s more a gloss than a bona fide lipstick.\u009d However, that doesn’t diminish the product’s longevity and moisture power: offering optimum colour with a glossy effect, it stays put while making your lips feel soft and silky. Perfect for a more casual event, you can still create a pop of colour while also lessening the effect through a translucent sheen. <\/p>\n
