There’s a reason Hollywood actress Kate Hudson<\/a> moved from being an indie movie darling to gracing the pages of Vogue in just a few years time. Hudson has that certain je ne sais quoi<\/em>. She first captured our attention as 60’s hippie it-girl Penny Lane in Almost Famous\u009d back in 2000, and since then has had countless roles in box office rom-com hits, and a recurring role as on the hit show Glee as dance teacher Cassandra July.<\/p>\n

Now a 33-year old mother of two, Hudson is still looking as fabulous. So fabulous, in fact, that she was chosen as the face for Almay beauty products back in 2010.  <\/p>\n

This past Sunday at the 70th Golden Globes <\/a>awards, Hudson dazzled us once  again. Clad in a black, gold embroidered Alexander McQueen gown, Hudson looked smashing with her Brigitte Bardot-inspired eye makeup, done by makeup artist Leslie Lopez. Although colorful dresses are usually the norm at awards’ ceremonies, black was a hot choice on the GG red carpet this year. Pop singer Katherine McPhee, and actresses Salma Hayek, Eva Longoria and Nicole Kidman also donned classic black at the awards ceremony.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, you don’t have to be a high profile Hollywood actress to get Hudson’s look. Whether you are going out on a date or just having a night out with the girls, you can look classic and stunning just by wearing black and applying a few of these makeup tips:<\/p>\n

Face:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apply a primer to improve makeup coverage and to make it long-lasting. Leslie Lopez used Almay Smart Shade Perfect & Correct Primer. Next, apply a mousse in light\/medium, such as Almay Smart Shade Mousse Makeup. Finally, apply a coral blush, such as Almay Smart Shade Powder Blush.<\/p>\n

Eyes:<\/strong><\/p>\n

To get Kate’s strong, shimmering eyes, apply a liquid shadow and color primer in nude for green eyes, such as Almay Intense i-Color Liquid Shadow + Color Primer, apply a defining liner in charcoal for blue eyes. Apply eye shadow to the crease of your eyelid and liner right above the lash line. As the finishing touch, apply a volumizing mascara in midnight for hazel eyes, like Almay’s Intense i-Color Volumizing mascara.<\/p>\n

Lips:<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the piece de resistance, use a lipgloss in a pink shade like bellini, such as \u00a8Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in Bellini<\/p>\n
