“Mad Men” — glorious, wonderful “Mad Men” — returns to AMC on April 7, but until then, you can still deck yourself out in 1960s inspired threads.<\/p>\n

Banana Republic are launching their thrid “Mad Men” collection on February 27, and is taking its inspiration solely from Megan Draper (played by Canada’s Jessica Pare — and who is cousins with our very own intern, Andrea), and being fronted by Coco Rocha.<\/p>\n

Created alongside the show’s costume designer, Janie Bryant, the collection draws from the series’ upcoming late ’60s era — so think mod styles and Carnaby Street. (Especially for uber-hip Megan.) Bold prints and bright colours are the name of the game, and understandably, Banana Republic couldn’t be more excited.<\/p>\n

“With a new era of fashion inspiration, the design process was inspiring for us and allowed for lots of creativity, which is completely visible in the end result,” Simon Kneen, Banana Republic Creative Director and Executive Vice President said. “We took Janie’s mod inspiration for the costumes on-screen and translated it in a way that today’s Don or Megan will aspire to wear.”<\/p>\n

Sport coats, stripes, and plaids make up the men’s collection, as well as skinny ties — which were also seen on the S\/S 2013 runway.<\/p>\n

“In my work with Simon for the Banana Republic “Mad Men” Spring 2013 collection, the spirit and fashion-forward thinking we see on-screen in Megan was really inspirational for the capsule,” Bryant added. “I am excited about what we’ve done together, and I know that Banana Republic customers and “Mad Men” fans are going to be thrilled.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
