Naomi Campbell is helping survivors of the typhoon that hit the Philippines this weekend by selling a limited-edition print of herself, which was photographed by John-Paul Pietrus. Peitrus is half-Filipino and gave Campbell a bit of insight on how the proceeds would help the rescue efforts. The photos, signed by Campbell, are selling for £20. The proceeds will go to the Red Cross disaster fund. <\/p>\n

"I chose this photo of Naomi as I think she is a very inspirational and beautiful figure, and she looks so peaceful here — something I would like the victims to find, a peace," Pietrus told Vogue UK<\/a>. "I was on the Red Cross website and thought that there must be something more that I can do than a personal donation, not only to raise money but to raise awareness. I immediately called Naomi to see what can be done and she suggested selling one of the images we've taken for charity. Naomi has always been passionate about helping those in crisis and I'm grateful for her getting behind this initiative and coming up with a way of helping those effected by the typhoon." <\/p>\n

The typhoon which struck the Philippines has caused so much devastation, it is being referred to as the "world's worst storm." It is estimated that 10,000 have died and more than 9 million have been affected in some form. <\/p>\n

"I am half-Filipino, and still have a lot of family in the Philippines," Pietrus said. "Fortunately most of my family has been spared any misfortune, however, my aunt's hometown was completely destroyed and flattened to the ground, and she has lost a lot of things dear to her, including friends."<\/p>\n
