EQ3 teams up with Micha\u00e9\u00ablle Jean Foundation to benefit underprivileged Canadian youth through the Generation Art contest.<\/em><\/p>\n

Winnipeg-based furniture company EQ3 has partnered with Micha\u00e9\u00ablle Jean Foundation (FMJF) for the second time to give Canadian artists, whether casual or professional, the chance to have their designs featured in a special line of interior d\u00e9\u00a9cor accessories.<\/p>\n

FMJF was co-founded by the Right Honourable Micha\u00e9\u00ablle Jean, the former Governor General, along with her husband Jean-Daniel Lafond, a philosopher, filmmaker and writer. EQ3, a company known for creating quality modern furniture, is dedicated to corporate social responsibility. All proceeds from their combined initiative, called “Generation Art,” will go towards FMJF programs which serve to improve the lives of underprivileged youth in the country and the communities they live in.<\/p>\n

Artists of any age have until February 23, 2014 to submit their creative interpretation of what the theme “Celebrating Canadian Diversity” means to them, and winning designs will be turned into patterns and prints for products such as pillows, ottomans and tote bags that will be available through EQ3 stores and online later this year. Up to ten designs will be selected, and frontrunners will enjoy a trip to Toronto, which includes hotel accommodations and a monetary award, to see their designs at EQ3’s limited edition product launch.<\/p>\n
