It can seem like it literally happens overnight. One minute you and your girls are out every weekend, meeting tons of new people, and generally having the time of your lives. Then all of a sudden you wake up one morning and it’s all gone. Every one of your girls is suddenly shacking it up with their new boyfriends and you are the lone soldier, left to wade the murky waters of being the last woman standing in your group of friends. Well luckily we’re here to help, here’s our five best tips for how to survive being the solo single friend.<\/p>\n

Remain neutral<\/strong><\/p>\n

We know it can be hard to keep your jealousy<\/a> (or full-on distain) at bay when your friends are all suddenly completely loved up but displaying one or both of the above will only prove to distance you even further from your friends. No one likes a Debbie Downer.<\/p>\n

Date. A lot.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So your social calendar is looking a little bleak these days? Fear not, there is plenty of eligible single men out there just waiting to help you fill it up. If you can’t beat your friends, you might as well start making a serious effort to join them! Plus, if you don’t take it too seriously dating can actually be a lot of fun. Enjoy it!<\/p>\n

Meet new people<\/strong><\/p>\n

If dating is something that, for whatever reason, is really not on your radar right now, then find other ways to go out and meet new people<\/a> – sign up for a cooking class, start volunteering, join a co-ed sports team or a bookclub. There is no better time than now to meet new people and start expanding your social circle.<\/p>\n

Reconnect with old friends<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trust us, not all<\/em> of your friends are taken. Remember your old high school friends? The ones you haven’t connected with in god knows how long? Or the girls you shared a college dorm with whom you were virtually inseparable from for a whole eight months. You might be surprised to find out that as the times have passed, the things you have in common might have grown.<\/p>\n

Be content with single<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just because you are the last single one out there doesn’t mean that you have to rush out to join the herds. If they all jumped off a bridge, would you? Didn’t think so. There is nothing wrong with being single and awesome.<\/a> You’d be surprised how many of your loved up friends will be dying with envy of your position in a few months. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
