Victoria Beckham is putting pieces from her personal collection to help mothers2mothers<\/a>, a charity dedicated to helping mothers living with HIV to end pediatric AIDS. The auction is taking place in association with online retailer The Outnet<\/a> later this month. <\/p>\n

"I laughed a lot when we were going through my wardrobe as the pieces hold so many happy memories for me, David and the children," Beckham <\/span>said<\/a>. "A lot of the clothes have been specially designed for me by the most talented designers and I've loved wearing them, however I now feel it's someone else's turn to enjoy them. We approached The Outnet as they have an incredible global reputation and are the perfect partner for us to build awareness and raise as much money as possible for mothers2mothers."<\/span><\/p>\n

Beckham took a trip to South Africa earlier this year to visit the charity's base, which led her to wanting to help mothers2mothers in a bigger way. The charity trains, employs and empowers mothers living with HIV to educate them on how to prevent the transmission of the disease from mothers to babies. <\/span><\/p>\n

"After spending just a few days with these remarkable women and learning more about the charity from Mitch [founder of Mothers2mothers, Dr. Mitch Besser] and his lovely wife Annie Lennox, I wanted to do as much as I could," Beckham said. "It really was a life-changing experience; I've never experienced anything like it."<\/span><\/p>\n

The auction of Beckham' personal items will include hats, shoes, bags, jewellery, designer ready-to-wear, coats, evening dresses, and even skiwear. Anyone hoping to get their hands on a piece of Beckham's wardrobe should register at <\/span>www.theoutnet.com\/vbcharitysale<\/a>. The auction will be taking place from August 20th to 25th. <\/span><\/p>\n
