Herve Leger has just sent a strong message: they’re not going to tolerate sexism, body-shaming, or hate-speech. Which is why they just fired Patrick Couderac, managing director MJH Fashions (UK distributor of Herve Leger), after he said women of a certain shape\/size\/lifestyle should not wear the brand’s bandage dress.<\/p>\n

“If you’re a committed lesbian and you are wearing trousers your whole life, you won’t want to buy a Leger dress,” he said. “Lesbians would want to be butch and rather leisurely.” (What?!)<\/p>\n

He then went on to say that older women, women with “very prominent hips and a flat chest,” should also avoid the dress.<\/p>\n

So: the man’s a monster. Also: what?! Honestly, what?! His words don’t even make sense. His words are nonsense. What do pants have to do with sexuality? Do we not all wear pants?\u00a0Is everyone as confused as I am? This man is obviously very sad and confused. Which is what Herve Leger took away from the whole thing because they fired his sorry ass immediately.<\/p>\n

Stating that they were “shocked and appalled” by Couderac’s comments, the brand went on to say that “The statements made by Mr. Couderac are not a reflection of Herve Leger by Max Azria or MJH Fashion ideals or sentiments. The Herve Leger by Max Azria brand celebrates sensuality, glamour, and femininity without discretion.”<\/p>\n

Which is exactly the way all things should be celebrated. Clothes are for every person, regardless of size or sexuality or anything, ever. So goodbye, Patrick Couderac. You are the worst.
