As far as spacious sandy beaches go, Balsam Lake’s offering<\/a> is one of the closest to the city and easiest to get to from Toronto. Just north of Peterborough in the Kawarthas are 16 kilometres of spacious (and often\u00a0quiet) beach. Bring your tent, or rent out the four-bedroom cottage near the water for you and some pals.<\/p>\n

Art crawl and Airbnb in Detroit<\/strong> (3 hours 45 minutes from Toronto)<\/p>\n

Detroit is a wonderland of opportunities for art lovers. The city has\u00a0over 80 galleries, a world-known electronic music scene and a bunch of opportunities to hear it, street festivals in summer, more than a few items\u00a0you should eat before you die<\/a>, and that distinct Detroit-building charm. Apparently there are currently more than<\/a> 150 Airbnb rentals listed in Detroit, including single rooms, others houses or lofts rent for an average of $94 per night.
