This is the kind of summer that makes me ask myself existential questions. For example, why do women wear their hair long? I get it was a biblical thing in a time gone by, but now my mane-like hair makes me so sweaty that I’m pretty sure the city is going declare the back of my neck a public swimming pool. Also, why do we wear clothes at all? Realistically we all look the same under these woven heat blankets\u201d sorry shirts\u201d so why do we bother? And why on earth did our ancestors decide to settle in a place that goes to -30C in the winter and +35C in the summer? Don’t get me wrong I love the 6ix, but without the CN tower, Drake, and hip brunch restaurants, I would have sailed back to England during the first winter like the big Raynauds ridden baby that I am.<\/p>\n
These existential questions stem in large part from the fact that it is approximately one million degrees out and most mornings I just stare at my closet and pick the item that has the least fabric and sweat on it. In that order. Because honestly I’ve worn some pretty sweaty things to avoid having to wear sleeves.<\/p>\n
In summary, my situation is such that I find it virtually impossible to look fashionable when its this hot, and I usually end up leaving the house looking like a dirty hillbilly.<\/p>\n
In these desperate times I’ve found myself turning to the wardrobe gurus\u201d fashion bloggers. Believe it or not, fashion bloggers get hot too, and they usually come up with some pretty ingenious ways to dress for the heat and magically still look cool and composed. After some pretty thorough stalking I’ve narrowed down their top hot weather tricks. Will these manage to keep me cool even though I don’t have magic blogger blood? Only time (and the incoming heatwave) will tell.<\/p>\n
